PEER REVIEWS

I thought the peer reviews went really well today. Someone commented that I should make it either all widescreen or all fullscreen.

I tried to make it all widescreen but it cut of heads etc so I went back to the original video. I'm happy with it being half anf half.

Week 8

Made a poster for the video today because I was bored. I started trying to do something really complicated but then went for a really simple design instead and I think it looks much better.

Last night I formally wrote up all the different bits of my portfolio. I need to find a scanner now to put them all on the computer

Week 7

Put in the last of the scenes today. Am really pleased with how it all fits together. Have even added the song title coming on at the start and the end of the song so it looks like a proper music video. I have also made the GTA scene and Google Earth look like they are wide screen by putting black bars at the top and bottom of the frames, this covers up all the fraps stuff etc.

Week 7

Started using Premiere today. Really glad I went to the tutorial as I would have been so lost otherwise. Almost finished but need a few extra scenes from The Movies to pad it out a bit more as the song lasts longer than the scenes.

Week 6

Right, I have all my scenes now. I've even captured scenes in Google Earth to zoom in at the start of the video and out at the end. Can't wait to start editing them all together

Week 6

AGGGHHHH just played GTA and the main character has a different skin colour than the character for all the scenes I have made in The Movies. Will need to go right back to the start and get all my scenes again.

Week 6

Spent most of the afternoon capturing scenes in the movies, just need to use GTA San Andreas to get a scene of a guy on a motorbike and I will have everything I need to make the video

Week 5

Created a storyboard.

Initial scenes zoom in from world, then street, then house etc to the basement
Verse1 - Main characteris in the basement felling angry and upset.
Chorus1 - Singer on stage with a microphone
Instrumental Break - Main character sees his girlfriend cheating on him and she sneaks back in the house
Verse 2 - The couple argue
Chours2 - repeat chorus1
Guitar Solo - Main character crying, goes to light cigarette, you see the lighter, then the basement on fire. He walks towards the basement stairs
Chorus3 - Main character driving off on motorbike, zoom in on his eyes, then back to the singer on stage for the end of the chorus
End - zoom back out from a street

Need to capture these scenes from computer games now

Week 5

Have made my QOC diagram and the best options to use are the main character walking around the basement and him sitting on a box crying.

Week 5

No scenes in the movies for someone being tied to a chair so am going to make a QOC diagram to figure out what options are the best fit for the video

Week 5

Created a character arc for my main character in the tutorial:

Fear - Scared of being alone
Limitation - He doesn't like arguments
Block - How unhappy he really is
Wound - His girlfriend has cheated on him before

Main storyline for Music Video
He is fed up of is girlfriend taking advantage
He catches her cheating on him again
She confronts him and he snaps
He burns down the house and drives off on a motorbike

Will need to stop mucking around with The Movies and start getting my scenes together

Week 4

Just created character trait diamonds in the tutorial. Made me think of a story behind the song for the video, rather than random scenes:

Main character finds out his his girl friend is cheating on him
So lots of angry scenes and the couple arguing

Boyfriend won an award for me in The Movies last night so I can FINALLY put the cheat in and use all levels and all costumes

Recorded song with my brother so I can start matching it to video clips. I really wish I could sing - this is going to be so embarrassing!

Week 3

I thought the video would start with a zoom in on a street, then a house , then a living room, then a basement.

Verse 1:
You would then see the guy tied to a chair trying to break free fading into his mouth when he is screaming.

Chorus:
Guy driving into the sunset on a motorbike, then camera angle turns to a close up on faces fading into close up on his eye. Turning into someone singing the last line of the chorus on a stage.

Verse 2:
Couple arguing etc...

Guitar Solo:
Maybe a guy playing guitar onto of a hill but this is a bit cheesy so trying to think of something better.

End on the song zooms back out the opposite way it came in.

Week 3

After hours of listening to music, I've finally got inspiration from metallica.
Wrote lyrics to a song but my guitar playing is pretty rubbish so I'm going to go home at the weekend and ask my little brother to play and sing for me

Still haven't won an award on The Movies - need to practice playing computer games more.

Week 2

After a lot of game play I'm back to square one as my director keeps getting drunk and rehab isn't working! I have found a cheat to unlock everything in the game but you need to win an award before you can use it.

Week 2

In the tutorial I realised that if I wanted to get good marks for a music video I would need to write and record my own song. This will be difficult but it is something that I would like to do so I'm going to go ahead with it.

Week 2

After the lecture, I decided I now wanted to do a music video. I went out and bought "The Movies" and "Max Payne 2" and started playing around with the software. The movies is harder than I thought because you have to set up a studio and train your actors before you can make decent movies.

Week 1

I decided to do a film trailer so today I came up with a basic idea:

Action/Love Film:
Leading Guy - Jack Star
Leading Girl - Kate Smith
Bad Guy - Ivor Killen
2nd Bad Guy - Dave "The Python" Baldy
3rd Bad Guy - Tom Grey

Storyline:
Girl getting tortured by bad guys because she knows where the stone of Ahara is hidden and they want it
Jack saves her
They go on the run
She needs to tell the keeper of the stone that people are looking for it

Initial Scenes:
1. Production Company Scenes
2. Flashes of torture scenes
3. Jack bursts in and saves girl
4. Chase scenes
